A 3 part video series going over some of my favourite ways to care for the pelvic floor
In this video series I wanted to offer some nice practical and simple ways you can care for the pelvic floor. I'll be going over a mindfulness technique, ways to release through the pelvic floor and also some simple movements and postures to ease pressure.
Video 1 - Mindfulness
In this video I take you through a mindfulness technique that I use and that I also use with my clients. We want to think about coming back to the present moment through breath awareness and then a physical connection.
Video 2 - Release & Relax
In this video I take you through 3 ways to ease tension and release and relax through the pelvic floor.
- Breath awareness - notice am I holding my breath a lot throughout the day?
- Releasing through the jaw. It's all connected! A gentle massage on the jawline or stretch can help.
- Release and relax through the glutes. A body scan is a great way to see if where we're holding tension.
Video 3 - Restorative & Mobility
In this video I show you a little mobility movement to ease tension through the hips and also a lovely little restorative pose.
- Movement 1 is performing some gentle hip circles moving one way and then the other
- Movement 2 is a restorative pose. I'm demonstrating with a bolster but I also use a cushion. The hips only need to be propped slightly up to allow gravity to do the work. You can stay in this pose for 1-10 minutes.
